Apple first launched AppleCare One in the United States last July. That multi-device subscription warranty has now spent a full year proving itself. Finally, it is stepping onto the global stage.
According to Apple’s official announcement, the service arrives in four new markets on 4 August: the UK, France, Germany, and Australia.
AppleCare One is Apple’s first cross-device subscription warranty. It breaks the old AppleCare+ model of buying cover for one device at a time. Instead, users can protect up to three Apple devices at once, spanning iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. As a result, it extends device lifespan more flexibly and, once again, tightens the pull of Apple’s ecosystem. Apple detailed the move in its UK newsroom announcement.

Across every market, the base plan covers up to three devices. Each additional device is billed separately.

Compared with the current US structure of $19.99 monthly for three devices and $6 per extra device, the UK converts to slightly less than the US. Europe and Australia, meanwhile, land roughly level with US pricing.
No More 60-Day Limit: Four-Year-Old Devices Qualify
One feature stands out most. AppleCare One completely scraps the old AppleCare+ rule that required activation within 60 days of purchase.
Under Apple’s stated terms, any device bought within four years qualifies, provided a check confirms it is in good condition. For users who missed the old activation window, this is a genuinely generous change.
Full Cover, With Theft Protection Extended
On benefits, AppleCare One keeps the same rights as AppleCare+. That includes unlimited accidental-damage repairs, battery replacement, and 24-hour priority technical support.
One change deserves attention. Theft and loss protection, once offered only for iPhone, now extends fully to iPad and Apple Watch under AppleCare One. For users who carry several devices out and about, this rounds out the overall cover.
Worth It? It Depends on Your Devices
On cost, whether AppleCare One beats buying AppleCare+ separately hinges on the device mix in your hands.
Apple offers an example in the UK. If a user buys AppleCare+ with theft and loss cover separately for an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, switching to AppleCare One could save up to about £11.48 a month. However, the maths can flip. If those devices are all base models with no theft cover added, the separate total (£6.49 for iPhone, £3.49 for iPad, £2.49 for Apple Watch, or £12.47) actually falls below AppleCare One’s £16.99 monthly price.
A second scenario confirms the pattern. A user with high-end flagships, such as a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone Pro Max, would pay £32.97 a month buying AppleCare+ individually. Switching to AppleCare One saves nearly £16 a month. Yet a user holding only a MacBook Air, iPad Air, and Apple Watch would find separate AppleCare+ cheaper, and AppleCare One would cost about £2.35 more each month.
In short, AppleCare One suits users with high-end devices, or those who intended to add theft and loss cover anyway. Add a fourth or fifth device, especially a pricier one, and the savings grow clearer still.
Recent US Price Rises Sharpen the Contrast
Back in the US, AppleCare One has grown more appealing lately. Apple quietly raised Mac and iPad prices in June. It then lifted AppleCare+ monthly and annual fees in mid-July, adding about $0.5 a month. AppleCare One, though, held its $19.99 base price, which makes the multi-device subscription’s value even more pronounced.
Overall, this global expansion marks a deepening of Apple’s services-revenue strategy. More than that, it shows Apple using a more flexible warranty to bind users ever tighter to its ecosystem. For loyal customers already surrounded by Apple devices, its arrival may be a fine moment to review how their current cover is arranged.
