Samsung has officially confirmed that it will unveil the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge—first teased alongside the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year—through an online event scheduled for May 13 at 9:00 AM Korea Standard Time.
While Samsung has yet to release detailed specifications of the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company has revealed that the device will feature a more compact internal architecture. Key components, including the frame, have been entirely reengineered, with a particular emphasis on achieving a significantly slimmer form factor.
Samsung is not alone in the race toward ultra-thin smartphone design. Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its own slimline device—rumored to be named the iPhone 17 Slim or possibly the iPhone 17 Air. Other manufacturers, such as OPPO, have also announced upcoming models that prioritize reduced thickness, signaling a renewed competitive focus on slender design across the mobile industry.
However, as smartphone performance continues to advance, the pursuit of thinner profiles inevitably leads to reduced battery capacity, which in turn shortens battery life. In response to this challenge, realme has introduced a conceptual device—the realme GT 10000mAh—which boasts an impressive 10,000mAh battery encased within a body measuring just 8.5mm thick and weighing 215 grams, aiming to deliver extended battery life without sacrificing slimness.
