ASUS releases Prime GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards
Asus has announced the release of the Prime GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. The overall dimensions are 269 x 120 x 50 mm, significantly smaller than Nvidia’s SFF-Ready specification of 304 x 151 x 50 mm. Asus has essentially modified the cooling solution from the Dual series, increasing the number of fans to three, each measuring 70mm, combined with an aluminum heatsink module and a large backplate cutout to further enhance cooling performance.
The initial batch of the Prime GeForce RTX 40 series includes three GPUs: RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070, and RTX 4070 SUPER. There are six variants available: RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4060 Ti OC Edition, RTX 4070, RTX 4070 OC Edition, RTX 4070 SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER OC Edition. Interestingly, Asus has not offered models for RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER.
The boost clock for the RTX 4060 Ti is 2565 MHz, while the OC version’s boost clock is 2610 MHz. The RTX 4070 has a boost clock of 2505 MHz, and the OC version’s boost clock is 2550 MHz. The RTX 4070 SUPER has a boost clock of 2475 MHz, and the OC version’s boost clock is 2520 MHz. The RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4070 use a single 8-pin power connector, whereas the RTX 4070 SUPER uses a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector.
Currently, 15 graphics card and case manufacturers have joined the SFF-Ready standard, including traditional graphics card brands such as Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac, and Inno3D, as well as case manufacturers like Cooler Master, Lian Li, NZXT, and Phanteks. If a graphics card or case meets the new SFF-Ready standard, the product page will display “SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Cards” or “Compatible with SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Cards.”
The release date and specific pricing for the Prime GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards are yet to be determined.
