The iconic blue bird sign, once prominently displayed outside the San Francisco headquarters and standing approximately 12 feet tall, has recently been sold at auction for a confirmed price of $34,375.
The winning bidder is also responsible for covering the shipping costs to transport the sign from its current storage facility. Measuring roughly 12 by 8 feet and weighing an imposing 560 pounds, the sign’s size and weight suggest that the associated logistics expenses will be significant.
However, RR Auction, the house that managed the bidding process, has not disclosed the identity of the buyer. It remains unclear whether the purchaser intends to preserve the sign in its original form as a relic of Twitter’s branding or repurpose it for another use.
In addition to this successfully auctioned blue bird emblem, another sign once affixed to Twitter’s office building was sold during the company’s large-scale asset liquidation in 2023, although no specific sale price was made public.
