In addition to revealing that the iPhone model commemorating Apple’s 20th anniversary, slated for release in 2027, may face higher pricing due to tariff concerns, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has also disclosed that the successor to Apple’s Vision Pro headset is expected to debut either by the end of 2025 or in the first half of 2026. Simultaneously, Apple has commenced development on a smart glasses project, internally codenamed “N50.”
Earlier reports suggested that Apple was preparing to launch a lighter, more affordable version of its virtual visual headset, alongside another model designed to seamlessly integrate with Mac devices — an effort to appeal to a broader consumer base.
When Apple introduced the Vision Pro, it garnered significant attention for its user experience and functional design; however, its lofty price point deterred many potential buyers. Consequently, persistent market rumors have indicated that Apple plans to release a more accessible, lower-cost variant of the virtual headset.
Meanwhile, in response to Meta’s smart glasses offerings, Apple has begun working on the “N50” smart glasses, which are expected to incorporate the company’s “Apple Intelligence” services. This device will reportedly be capable of analyzing and interpreting the wearer’s surroundings. Nevertheless, privacy considerations may impose restrictions on the glasses’ imaging and recording capabilities.
In parallel, Apple continues to develop AirPods equipped with camera functionality, featuring integrated visual analysis capabilities. Although specific application details remain unclear, these camera-enabled AirPods are anticipated to launch alongside the smart glasses, with both products expected to enter the market around 2027.
