Following numerous rumors surrounding the iOS 19 update, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman revealed in the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter that Apple is planning to introduce a new feature allowing all Apple devices signed in with the same account to automatically connect to public Wi-Fi networks—eliminating the need to manually click through login portals or fill out authentication forms on each individual device.
Previously, Apple enabled devices signed into the same Apple ID to synchronize saved Wi-Fi credentials or share Wi-Fi information with other users. With the upcoming iOS 19 update, Apple appears poised to enhance this functionality, allowing users to seamlessly connect all of their Apple devices to public networks once a single device completes the connection process—streamlining repetitive steps and reducing friction across devices.
For instance, when checking into a hotel, guests are often required to input personal information such as their name and room number separately on each device to gain Wi-Fi access. iOS 19 aims to simplify this process by enabling all devices under the same Apple ID to inherit the connection details from the initial login, thereby saving users time and effort.
In earlier reports, it was also suggested that Apple may unify the visual design of iOS 19 with other operating systems—bringing consistency across icons, menus, apps, windows, and system navigation elements.
However, beyond these interface refinements, Apple is unlikely to introduce significant new OS-level features in this cycle. Instead, the company is expected to concentrate its efforts on enhancing its “Apple Intelligence” services—particularly by investing in the evolution of its Siri digital assistant and expanding Apple Intelligence’s integration across a broader range of applications.
Apple is scheduled to host its WWDC 2025 developer conference from June 9 to 13 (Pacific Time), during which iOS 19 will be officially unveiled alongside updates to iPadOS 19, macOS 16, and other operating systems. Many of the headline announcements are expected to focus on strengthening Apple Intelligence—potentially including a partnership with Google to incorporate its Gemini AI technology.
