Ahead of Computex 2025, Arm has announced a strategic renaming of its products to better align with the diverse demands of modern computing. The new naming convention aims to clearly delineate each product’s intended computational domain.
This renaming primarily redefines the previously introduced Compute Subsystems (CSS), moving beyond the conventional CSS for Client or Neoverse classifications. Instead, Arm seeks to more intuitively distinguish its offerings by application scenario through a refined and purpose-driven nomenclature.
Under this new structure, the platform for infrastructure computing is designated as Arm Neoverse. The PC computing segment adopts the name Arm Niva, while mobile platforms are branded as Arm Lumex. Automotive applications fall under Arm Zena, and IoT-focused solutions are now labeled Arm Orbis. The GPU segment will continue under the established Mali brand.
In addition to simplifying product names for greater clarity and intuitive recognition, Arm is introducing a tiered performance hierarchy using designations such as Ultra, Premium, Pro, Nano, and Pico. This approach is intended to help developers and partners swiftly discern each product’s capabilities and distinctions.
Arm CEO Rene Haas affirmed that forthcoming Arm-based designs will adopt this updated naming system, reinforcing the company’s commitment to driving AI computing acceleration through innovative design.
