Following a limited test made available to select users, allowing them to stream their personally owned Xbox games across multiple devices via the cloud, Microsoft has now announced that the feature is officially available to all players using Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. However, access remains contingent on an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
On the other hand, users must also reside in a region where Microsoft’s cloud gaming service is officially supported, which means players in country —where the service has yet to launch—are still unable to access this functionality.
Currently, more than 100 titles—including Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Baldur’s Gate III, Hogwarts Legacy, and Animal Well—support cloud streaming via this feature. Microsoft has committed to clearly labeling all supported titles, and has also expanded the lineup to include backward-compatible games from the original Xbox and Xbox 360 eras, further enriching the library of streamable content.
Through this service, players can stream eligible games from their Xbox console to a variety of devices, including select smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, Meta Quest VR headsets, as well as PCs, tablets, and smartphones—accessed via a web browser. This enables a seamless gaming experience across environments, allowing users to enjoy cloud-based play on the go and resume gameplay at home on other devices.
However, while this feature expands access to Xbox games via a broader range of connected devices, Microsoft has simultaneously removed the in-app streaming function previously available in the Xbox App. Still, users can continue to access the cloud gaming experience through supported web browsers.
