Snapdragon X Powers Windows PC Revolution: Desktops, All-in-Ones & More
This year, in collaboration with Microsoft, Qualcomm announced the launch of the first wave of “Copilot + PC” design products with OEM partners such as ASUS, Acer, Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Samsung. At the Computex 2024 pre-show keynote, Qualcomm CEO Christiano Amon announced that at least 22 Windows PCs equipped with Snapdragon X series processors will be entering the market, with more PC designs, including set-top boxes, desktops, and All-in-One products, expected to further stimulate growth in the Windows market ecosystem.
Christiano Amon emphasized that the Snapdragon X series processors will “rejuvenate” the PC market by introducing more AI-powered experiences to traditional PCs. He highlighted the collaboration with Microsoft to integrate Copilot AI technology, which will unlock new PC application capabilities and inject fresh momentum into the Windows market ecosystem.
In contrast to the traditional keyboard and mouse input mode, Qualcomm believes that by integrating more AI-powered interactive capabilities into PCs, users will be able to accomplish various tasks more easily. AI can automate scheduling, content planning, and streamline work and learning processes, ultimately enhancing overall efficiency.
Furthermore, Qualcomm emphasized that its low-power consumption characteristics enable higher computational performance, while the NPU design accelerates various AI computations. The deepened collaboration with Microsoft, through the Copilot service, will drive a vast array of AI application experiences. Qualcomm asserts that it can surpass competitors like Intel and Apple in providing processors with longer battery life and greater AI computing power. Additionally, numerous creative applications and over 1200 games, including AAA titles, are already compatible with the Snapdragon X series processor environment.
Moving forward, in addition to continuing collaboration with OEM partners on laptops, Qualcomm will leverage Snapdragon development tools to accelerate the release of more application software services. It also plans to launch various application products, such as set-top boxes, desktops, and All-in-One products, to expand the Windows on Snapdragon product ecosystem and attract a wider user base.
