Windows 11 Bug Overloads CPUs, Microsoft Promises Fix
Recently, Microsoft released a new Windows 11 preview version. However, users discovered a new bug that caused the CPU usage to become abnormally high and sustained. Following user feedback and discussions on Microsoft forums, the company officially acknowledged the issue.
According to TomsHardware, this bug is related to the “Cross Device Service,” which helps users sync and share files across different devices and is a crucial support service for the Phone Link feature. Users have reported that the CPU usage may reach up to 10% in the task manager. Subsequently, a Microsoft engineer responded on the forums, stating that they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix, although no patch has been released yet.
It is speculated that the bug may have arisen due to issues with new improvements in Windows 11’s cross-device services. Users can temporarily fix the issue by disabling the “Cross Device Service.” However, this incident has caused significant dissatisfaction among users, as it is not the first time a severe bug has appeared in the Windows 11 preview version. Recently, privacy issues with the AI feature Recall have also drawn Microsoft into a storm of public opinion.
Some users have expressed the hope that Microsoft will reassess the development priorities of Windows, listen to user suggestions, and improve the features that are genuinely needed, rather than forcibly adding various functions that users do not care about or frequently updating, leading to an unstable operating system and abnormal performance.
