TP-Link’s Archer GE800: The Ultimate Wi-Fi 7 Router for Gamers?
TP-Link has announced the launch of the new Archer GE800 BE19000 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 wireless router, priced at $599.99. Specifically designed for gaming enthusiasts, it offers a combined wireless network speed of up to 19 Gbps across the 2.4/5/6GHz bands, featuring dual 10 Gbps ports, and includes game acceleration functions that redefine the gaming experience. This router has also won the CES Innovation Award, laying the foundation for a new era in gaming performance.
TP-Link initially unveiled the Archer GE800 wireless router at the end of 2022, with a planned release in the first or second quarter of 2023, though it was delayed by a year. The Archer GE800 boasts a highly gaming-centric design, complete with RGB lighting effects, controllable via an app, which also provides current network and device status indicators.
The Archer GE800 is equipped with a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz; it features a 10 Gbps SFP+/RJ45 Combo WAN/LAN port, a 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port, and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. It includes a USB 3.0 port, supporting NTFS, exFAT, HFS+, and FAT32 partition formats, and also supports FTP server, media server, and Samba server functionalities. The 2.4GHz band offers speeds of 1376 Mbps, the 5GHz band 5760 Mbps, and the 6GHz band 11520 Mbps, with support for 320 MHz bandwidth, 4K-QAM, and multi-band aggregation MLO technology.
To ensure gaming traffic receives the highest priority from the router, the Archer GE800 features dedicated gaming ports that automatically assign high-priority forwarding order to connected gaming devices. Additionally, TP-Link has partnered with WTFast, a gaming accelerator designed to optimize the transmission path from the router to the game server, providing an enhanced gaming experience.
