Minisforum launches UM890 Pro mini PC
Minisforum has announced the launch of the UM890 Pro mini PC, a new offering based on the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor. Compared to the previous UM880 Pro, the UM890 Pro features a more powerful processor, further enhancing performance for gaming, creative work, and multitasking.
The UM890 Pro measures 130 x 127 x 66.6 mm, boasting a remarkably compact design that supports VESA wall mounting, allowing for flexible placement. Minisforum has upgraded the cooling system with the new Cold Wave 2.2 architecture, increasing the performance mode from 65W to 70W for more stable system performance and reduced noise. Additionally, the device features expanded capabilities, including Oculink support, to meet both high productivity and entertainment needs.
The new device is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, based on the Zen 4 architecture, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process, and reaching a maximum boost frequency of 5.2 GHz. It integrates a Radeon 780M GPU based on the RDNA 3 architecture, with 12 CUs and a frequency of 2.8 GHz. It also supports AMD Ryzen AI, with NPU performance increased by up to 60%, delivering a total AI capability of 39 TOPS. The system includes dual SO-DIMM slots, supporting up to 96GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and is equipped with two M.2 2280 slots, both supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 channels, as well as an M.2 2230 slot supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The UM890 Pro mini PC also features dual USB4 ports supporting Alt PD mode, dual 2.5Gbps network cards, a DP 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
