LG UltraGear OLED: World’s First DisplayHDR 1.2 Certified Gaming Monitor
At the beginning of this month, the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) released the latest DisplayHDR 1.2 specification, encompassing higher performance requirements, including brightness, color gamut, and color depth, as well as new testing requirements for color accuracy, contrast, black levels, and subtitle flicker, addressing the challenges posed by advancements in display technology.
Recently, LG announced that its Ultra Gear OLED gaming monitor, the 45GS95QE, has officially passed this certification, becoming the industry’s first monitor to meet the DisplayHDR 1.2 specification.
The LG 45GS95QE features a new Hexagon lighting design and a narrow bezel on all four sides, accompanied by RGB ambient lighting. The inclusion of an L-shaped stand enhances desktop space, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing and organized setup. It is equipped with a 44.5-inch OLED panel with an 800R curvature, 10-bit color depth, UWQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, a response time (GtG) of 0.03ms, typical/peak brightness of 275/1000 nits, and a DCI-P3 color gamut of 98.5%. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, and AdaptiveSync technologies, and has previously been certified with DisplayHDR True Black 400 and VESA ClearMR 13000.
The monitor also features AGLR anti-glare low-reflection technology and supports LG Live Color Low Blue Light technology, enhancing visual experience during gaming by reducing annoying visual distractions and providing a more comfortable gaming experience, alleviating eye strain and pressure. The OLED Care function reduces the risk of burn-in and slows down screen aging.
The LG 45GS95QE offers two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DP 1.4 port, and a four-pole headphone jack supporting DTS Headphone:X, which enhances audio output for an immersive gaming experience with headphones. Additionally, it includes a USB hub function with two USB-A ports. The ergonomic stand is adjustable in height, swivel, and tilt.
