Intel may bring Bartlett Lake-S next year
Earlier reports indicated that Intel is preparing Bartlett Lake-S for the desktop platform, set to be the successor to Raptor Lake Refresh on the LGA 1700 platform. While Intel’s next-generation Arrow Lake-S will transition to the LGA 1851 platform, the new product targets the budget market with a more affordable price point. Intel may adopt a strategy similar to AMD’s coexistence of the AM4 and AM5 platforms, where the latter continues to update the Zen 3 architecture Ryzen 5000 series despite having the Zen 4/5 architecture Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 series.
Recently, an online source revealed that Bartlett Lake-S will come in two versions. The hybrid architecture version, featuring both P-Cores and E-Cores, will be released in early January 2025, while the version with only P-Cores will be available in the third quarter of 2025. Additionally, different core configurations for various Core products were provided.
Previous information suggested that Bartlett Lake-S originated from the Network and Edge (NEX) business unit and is intended for network and edge applications.
It is understood that Bartlett Lake-S utilizes the Intel 7 manufacturing process. The hybrid architecture version continues to use chips from Alder Lake and Raptor Lake, offering configurations up to 8P+16E, while the P-Core only version will use new chips, offering up to 12P configurations. The new product supports both DDR4 and DDR5 memory and is compatible with the current platforms used by the 12th, 13th, and 14th-generation Core processors. The integrated graphics will employ the Xe architecture, with UHD Graphics 770 as the highest offering, supporting four display outputs.
