ASRock releases new Radeon RX 6500 XT
At the beginning of 2022, AMD released the Radeon RX 6500 XT, crafted with the Navi 24 architecture based on RDNA 2. It was manufactured using a 6nm process, featuring 16 Compute Units, 1024 stream processors, a 16MB Infinity Cache, and 4GB of GDDR6 memory with a 64-bit bus width and an 18 Gbps memory speed. The limited memory capacity constrained the GPU’s performance, and the lack of support for 4K H.264/H.265 encoding as well as AV1 decoding, coupled with the PCIe 4.0 interface being restricted to four lanes, sparked significant controversy.
Recently, ASRock introduced a new variant of the Radeon RX 6500 XT within their Phantom Gaming series. Unlike typical counterparts, ASRock equipped this graphics card with 8GB of memory, effectively doubling the capacity, though the memory speed remains at 18 Gbps.
ASRock has pre-configured the Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming 8GB OC with factory overclocking settings, featuring base, game, and boost clock speeds of 2420 MHz, 2685 MHz, and 2825 MHz, respectively. For display output, it offers a single DP 1.4 port and an HDMI 2.1 port.
ASRock has yet to announce the pricing and specific release date for the Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming 8GB OC.
