Apple Watch X Marks 10 Years: Plastic SE Joins Lineup
In the “Power On” column, Bloomberg News reporter Mark Gurman stated that Apple is not only preparing to launch the commemorative Apple Watch X (10) for the product’s 10th anniversary, but is also planning to introduce an Apple Watch SE with a rigid plastic case.
This approach is reminiscent of the iPhone 5c, released in September 2013 alongside the iPhone 5s, which essentially retained the design of the iPhone 5 but replaced the metal frame with polycarbonate and featured a more rounded body design.
The new Apple Watch SE is expected to succeed the 2022 model and will likely be sold at a lower price than the current $249, to compete with Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Watch FE, priced at $199.
As for the previously rumored Apple Watch X (10), it is anticipated to be a commemorative design marking the product’s 10th anniversary, similar to the iPhone X. It will feature a larger screen, available in two sizes, and will be equipped with a new processor and artificial intelligence applications to support the “Apple Intelligence” service. Additionally, it may include new health measurement features, such as detecting hypertension and sleep apnea, with plans to incorporate blood sugar monitoring.
Furthermore, Apple appears to be considering the use of 3D printing to manufacture the Apple Watch cases, which would accelerate production and reduce costs.
