Apple launches AI technology Apple Intelligence
At WWDC24, Apple unveiled its AI technology, Apple Intelligence. According to the official description, this technology will be deeply integrated with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, enabling it to comprehend and generate language and images, take actions across applications, and learn users’ habits to streamline and expedite daily tasks. Furthermore, it supports private cloud computing, enhancing the AI capabilities of devices while ensuring user privacy and security.
In terms of specific features, iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia will support automatic text optimization, prioritized notification display, voice-to-text, text-to-image generation, and image clipping. Siri in these systems will also integrate Apple Intelligence technology. With its enhanced language comprehension, Siri can perform more naturally, contextually, and personally, simplifying and accelerating daily tasks. Siri will also feature a new visual design, with lighting effects surrounding the screen when Siri is active. Additionally, Siri will incorporate Apple Intelligence’s screen recognition capabilities, allowing it to understand user content and perform corresponding actions in more applications. According to Apple, Siri will be able to execute hundreds of operations in both native and third-party applications.
Regarding privacy, Apple Intelligence utilizes private cloud computing to expand device capabilities. However, the cloud computing process occurs on servers equipped with Apple chips, ensuring that user data is never retained or leaked.
Interestingly, iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia will also provide access to ChatGPT, allowing users to directly access ChatGPT without any additional applications. Moreover, Siri and native writing tools in these systems will support invoking ChatGPT.
