Apple Hits Pause on Vision Pro 2, Prioritizes Affordable Model
Apple’s Vision Pro has already appeared on the homepage of Apple’s official website. However, according to a report from The Information, cited by MIXED, Apple has paused the development of the second generation of Vision Pro.
An employee of a supplier responsible for manufacturing key components for Vision Pro informed The Information that they have received corresponding notifications from Apple. Additionally, sources from the supply chain and assembly sectors revealed to The Information that Apple is continuing the development of a more affordable Vision Pro model, with fewer features than the original Vision Pro, which is expected to be released in late 2025 at the earliest.
Moreover, The Information reported that a Vision Pro supplier halved its component production in May, as Apple anticipated a decline in demand by August. In April, this supplier produced components for 460,000 units of Vision Pro and planned to produce an additional 100,000 sets from May to August. This adjustment is influenced by the expansion of the release regions. Nonetheless, The Information stated that these figures indicate Apple will produce a maximum of 500,000 units of Vision Pro this year, with no significant increase expected by August.
