AMD Releases Pricing for Ryzen 5000XT and Teases Ryzen 9000
At COMPUTEX 2024, AMD unveiled its new consumer-grade processors. For desktop use, AMD introduced the Ryzen 9000 series based on the next-generation Zen 5 architecture for the AM5 platform, and the Ryzen 5000XT series for upgrading the older AM4 platform, still utilizing the Zen 3 architecture.
Although the Ryzen 9000 series has been delayed, with the Ryzen 5000XT series now available through retailers, AMD has finally released the official MSRP for these products.
Ryzen 5000XT series pricing:
- Ryzen 9 5900XT – $349
- Ryzen 7 5800XT – $249
The Ryzen 9 5900XT features 16 cores and 32 threads, with a maximum boost frequency of 4.8 GHz, which is 100 MHz lower than the previous Ryzen 9 5950X but has 4 more cores than the Ryzen 9 5900X. The Ryzen 7 5800XT has the same specifications as the Ryzen 7 5800X, with 8 cores and 16 threads, and a maximum boost frequency increased from 4.7 GHz to 4.8 GHz. Both have a TDP of 105W. The Ryzen 7 5800XT comes with a Wraith Prism cooler, while the Ryzen 9 5900XT does not include a stock cooler.

- Ryzen 9 9950X – $599
- Ryzen 9 9900X – $449
- Ryzen 7 9700X – $359
- Ryzen 5 9600X – $279
The initial lineup includes four models: Ryzen 9 9950X (16 cores, 32 threads), Ryzen 9 9900X (12 cores, 24 threads), Ryzen 7 9700X (8 cores, 16 threads), and Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores, 12 threads). According to the new release schedule, the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X have been postponed to August 8th, and the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X to August 15th. AMD stated that with the adoption of the new architecture and manufacturing process, the Ryzen 9000 series will be generally faster and more energy-efficient than the previous generation.
