Arctic launched the M2 Pro M.2 SSD heatsink
Recently, Arctic launched the M2 Pro M.2 SSD heatsink, featuring a conventional aluminum module design, supporting single/double-sided 2280 specification M.2 SSDs. Its slim dimensions also allow compatibility with the PlayStation 5 series gaming console’s SSD heat dissipation expansion. The new SSD heatsink is now available on Arctic’s official website, offered in silver and black colors, with a six-year warranty, priced at €9.99.
To ensure excellent installation compatibility, Arctic has used standard aluminum materials for the M2 Pro M.2 SSD heatsink, controlling the overall size to 73 x 24.2 x 10.5mm, meeting the installation needs of gamers for the M.2 slot under the PlayStation 5 series gaming console and motherboard graphics card slot. Additionally, the M2 Pro M.2 SSD heatsink features an easy-to-remove snap design, eliminating the need for screws, thus reducing user installation difficulty.
The heatsink comes with two TP-3 silicone pads of 1mm and 1.5mm thickness, with insulating, soft materials, and low adhesion, which can adhere well to the SSD surface. In terms of thermal performance, Arctic’s official tests show that the TP-3 silicone pad is among the top in its class, outperforming the Odyssey by Thermalright and the previous generation TP-2 from Arctic.
Arctic’s official test data also indicates that when the M2 Pro M.2 SSD heatsink is paired with the flagship PCIe 4.0 SSD, Samsung 990 PRO 1TB, the temperature can be reduced by up to 40℃ compared to without a heatsink, and it can keep the temperature steadily below 55℃. This helps prevent the SSD from thermal throttling and reduces the risk of failure.
